Uproxx on Raw Cereal and Unprocessed Creativity
"My savings account was in a stack of concert tickets." Anders Rahm, Uproxx
Will Schube interviewed Anders Rahm for Uproxx in September 2024, and it is still the clearest account of how he got here. Rahm left culinary school for creative agency work in Milwaukee, cold-contacted the production designer Baz Halpin after watching a Katy Perry documentary, and ended up shadowing the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show with Justin Timberlake.
The piece also explains the company name. Unprocessed creativity is the idea that a show should carry feeling before it carries a plot, which Rahm put to Uproxx as trying to convey emotion as opposed to direct attention. The interview covers Fred again.., Calvin Harris's Ibiza residencies, Duke Dumont and HiJinx Festival, and ends on where Rahm wanted to take the studio next: venue design, hospitality, and work across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
